Bradley Wellness Center Adds New Classes To Its Schedule

Monday, March 23, 2009

DALTON, GA – Hamilton's Bradley Center for Wellness is adding a variety of new and exciting fitness classes to its already complete schedule.

The newly added classes consist of Zumba, a Latin dance craze that has been transformed into a fitness program, and Aqua-tes, a Pilates-based class that takes place in the swimming pool.

Zumba, an effective core workout with extensive hip action, marries dance with fitness. Instructing the class will be bi-lingual, certified Zumba instructor Monette Taylor. She joins the center from Cumming, Ga., and is an experienced Latin dancer, originally from the Philippines. The one-hour class began March 16 and is held on Mondays, 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Fridays, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

"I am very excited to bring Zumba to the Bradley Wellness Center and the Dalton community. I enjoy introducing this form of dance and fitness to those craving a fun and exciting fitness program, and the best part is that no dancing background is required," says Taylor.

Aqua-tes, commonly referred to as Pilates with a splash, brings the toning, stretching, balancing and core workout of Pilates to a slow, controlled pace in the swimming pool. The instructor, Alecia Halman, is a certified water instructor and has trained to provide this Aqua-tes class to the center. This 30-minute class began March 17, and will be held Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

"This class is very original. Pilates lovers will rave over this new type of workout that takes place in a fun and relaxing atmosphere," states Halman.

The Bradley Center for Wellness has also increased the number of step classes offered, added a one-hour Dance Cardio class, Boot Camp and an early morning Pilates class, as well as extended the length of its cycle classes.

Laura Barnes, Group Fitness Coordinator, shares, "We have added 12 classes to our schedule totaling 63 classes per week – seven water, 20 cycle and 36 land. There is definitely something for everyone."
