Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative movement disorder which can cause deterioration of motor skills, balance, speech and sensory function.
The Parkinson’s disease Foundation estimates that there are more than 1 million people in the United States diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Each year 60,000 people are diagnosed and while treatment can help, there is not a cure. Bradley Wellness Center (BWC) has designed Boxing for Balance to be your partner in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. Exercises are primarily modified from boxing movements and also include maneuvers from BIG Therapy with Bradley Whiteside Rehab. Participants focus on muscular endurance, precision, hand-eye coordination, footwork and overall strength to defend against Parkinson’s disease.
