What is Barre?
It is all in the name. Barre is a choreographed workout. Each body-sculpting, fat-burning, endurance-building class incorporates barre exercises and cardio segments to gain muscle control, increase flexibility and develop long lean muscles. Better still the exercises are choreographed precisely to be played with music we love and listen to on the radio.
Is Barre right for you?
Barre is a great workout for a variety of fitness levels from a beginner to a trained athlete.
Meet the Instructor
“Hi, I’m Rachel! I was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee. I met my husband, Matt Weems, during college and we’ll be celebrating our third wedding anniversary this spring! We were blessed with the arrival of our son, Jaxon “Jax” River Weems, this past June and are having so much fun with our sweet little boy! We also have two golden retriever “fur babies”, Tucker and Bear. Outside of keeping up with our little one and my passion project as a group fitness instructor, I currently work from home as a contract copywriter in the flooring industry.
While I have a background in dance, it wasn’t until after college that I discovered (and thus became addicted to) Barre fitness classes! I guess you could say it was love at first shake 🙂 and I knew I was hooked when I was trying to sneak in two classes a day. I wanted to be involved on a deeper level and share my excitement with others so I decided to be an instructor and I’ve now been teaching Barre classes for the past three years. I am certified in Barre Intensity, but I have experience with a variety of methods and am constantly on the lookout for new inspiration to keep my classes fresh and effective! There is just something about the upbeat music, the mind body connection, the deep muscle burn and the real results that keep me coming back for more… I hope you’ll join me soon and see for yourself!”
